More Rain Haiku

#1
rustle in the leaves--
the wind rocks the green cradle
for the green parrot.

#2
the rain trickles down
never been touched by the sun
rusty backyard pipes

#3
the sun burried cold
under a frozen ocean--
skates a dauntless kyte

I am satisfied with #2. I think it complies fully with book definitions of haiku. #1 is okay, but it lacks the surprise element. #3 lacks the candidness of a model Haiku. The most gratifying thing is that #2 received good reviews from experts.

Just don't say these are crap :P

Singing with Tagore: A Translation

In the world of joy, in the luminance of goodness, you prevail, O true beautiful!

The sky is ablaze with greatness of thine
The universe is but an ornament on thy feet.

Planets and stars, the Moon and the Sun
Dabble with avidity, in your eternal glory.

Showers on the earth incessantly, redolent beauty
In the petals of flowers, in the music of aroma, in splendid colors.

Life flows night and day, a new course every moment!
In births and deaths your mercy ceases not.

Love, affection, benignity, devotion -- to soften our hearts;
How graciously thou give us solace when we are in affliction!

How great is thy festival, hails the universe,
While thy great riches lie in bliss, safely in thy hands!

My, my! This was tough!
TAGORE IS EVIL!!! >:(

HAIKU, because it's rain!

Summer night.
Hope it rains out there
as I sleep.

~

Sound of a downpour!
Those dead leaves of coconut --
aren't they yet golden?

~

Heavy lies the night.
On the gleaming city streets
raindrops fall hard.

~

One evening of rain.
Clouds, thunder, wind, shower and
one night of silence.
